With all the necessary equipment and ductwork already on-site, making changes would have been highly disruptive. To address this challenge, we engaged in extensive discussions with the consultant to modify their design in a way that incorporated the existing materials while still achieving their intended vision. This approach ensured the client’s needs were met while maintaining efficiency, minimising waste and adhering to budget constraints.

We were tasked with collaborating closely with a client to develop a vertical farming system that supports the rapid growth of herbs and salad crops in remote locations and extreme climates. The challenge was to maintain a consistently controlled internal environment within a sealed enclosure, which led to the design of a bespoke, packaged air conditioning system capable of adapting to the fluctuating and challenging external conditions.

We were appointed to support the delivery of a new high-profile showroom for a premium automotive brand – its first location outside of London. The goal was to create a space that reflected the brand’s identity and cutting-edge product design, with a mechanical solution that delivered optimal comfort while remaining completely unobtrusive.

The brief called for a neutral internal environment, regardless of external conditions. CONSULTANCY

Banking Sector Client, Consultancy, London

For this project, Taylor Grace Air Conditioning Ltd was engaged to provide independent consultancy input for the refurbishment of a major commercial premises.

Our specific role was to review and verify the pressure loss calculations produced by a third-party consultancy. We conducted our own set of pressure drop calculations to cross-check the values and ensure accuracy in the system design.

As part of our review, we:

Identified discrepancies between our results and the original calculations
Assessed the suitability of the proposed pump selections based on actual system requirements
Provided recommendations for improved pump sizing and selection to enhance performance and efficiency

Our consultancy work gave the client confidence that the system design was technically sound and optimised before procurement and installation began. This collaborative approach reduced the risk of performance issues post-installation and ensured the best long-term outcome for the building’s HVAC systems.

Global Tech & Accessories Retailer, Consultancy, EMEA

We were appointed by a major retail client to undertake a comprehensive review of fresh air provision, ventilation systems and indoor air quality across more than 100 of their stores located in city centres and shopping malls throughout EMEA. The project began with a desktop assessment of available documentation, including floor plans, asset registers, and O&M manuals. We also liaised closely with store teams to collect air quality readings, site photographs and feedback on any known issues affecting comfort or performance. Based on this analysis, we identified and flagged stores where air quality for staff or customers appeared to fall below acceptable standards. This led to physical inspections at 59 stores across multiple regions, where we assessed the existing mechanical systems on site. Following these visits, we concluded that a number of stores required mechanical refurbishments ranging from minor upgrades to full system replacements. We were subsequently appointed to develop detailed mechanical design drawings for these sites and provided ongoing support throughout the refurbishment works in our role as client-side consultant. The project helped the client significantly improve air quality and environmental conditions across their estate.

Historic Mews House, Consultancy, Central London

We were appointed to deliver the full mechanical design for the refurbishment and conversion of a historic mews house in Central London, transforming the property into two high-quality residential flats. Our scope covered the complete design of drainage, gas, hot and cold water, heating and ventilation systems. The new services were carefully coordinated to suit the revised internal layout, ensuring performance, reliability and ease of maintenance while working within the constraints of an older structure. As part of our appointment, we also carried out detailed heat loss calculations to inform the heating strategy and produced an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to demonstrate compliance with current energy standards. The project demanded a sensitive and practical design approach, balancing modern building services requirements with the preservation of the property’s original character.

Premium Pilates Studio, Consultancy, Battersea Power Station

We were engaged to deliver the mechanical design for a premium Pilates studio located within the landmark Battersea Power Station development. The project demanded a highly coordinated approach to integrate modern building services within an architecturally ambitious interior. Our design included a 4-pipe air conditioning system capable of simultaneous heating and cooling, supported by full hydraulic calculations and a bespoke control strategy. We also provided a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, along with a domestic hot and cold water design fully compliant with the landlord’s technical requirements. A key challenge was ensuring all systems were seamlessly integrated into the studio’s intricate interior finishes, requiring close coordination with the wider design and fit-out team.
